JUTAIPPS® NA is an unfilled, natural beige polyphenylene sulfide rod manufactured for precision-machined components used in chemical processing, electrical equipment, semiconductor machinery, pumps, valves and industrial systems.
PPS is a semi-crystalline high-performance thermoplastic with excellent chemical resistance, very low moisture absorption, inherent flame resistance and reliable dimensional stability.
Compared with conventional engineering plastics such as PA, POM and PET, PPS provides better resistance to elevated temperatures, aggressive chemicals, moisture and long-term dimensional change.
JUTAIPPS® NA rods are available in diameters from Ø10 to Ø160 mm. Cut-to-length supply and custom CNC machining can be provided according to customer drawings or samples.
Natural PPS offers excellent resistance to many:
• Acids
• Alkalis
• Fuels
• Oils
• Coolants
• Hydrocarbons
• Industrial cleaning agents
• Chemical process fluids
Chemical compatibility must be confirmed according to the actual chemical, concentration, temperature, pressure, mechanical stress and exposure time.
PPS maintains useful mechanical strength and dimensional stability at temperatures beyond the practical range of many conventional engineering plastics.
The allowable continuous operating temperature of a finished component depends on mechanical load, chemical exposure, pressure, service duration and component geometry.
JUTAIPPS® NA has very low water absorption, helping machined components maintain dimensional accuracy in humid, wet and chemically exposed environments.
This makes PPS suitable for precision components where moisture-related swelling must be minimized.
PPS combines:
• Low moisture absorption
• Good creep resistance
• Low molding shrinkage
• Stable electrical properties
• Relatively low thermal expansion
• Reliable performance during thermal cycling
For tight-tolerance components, controlled annealing and staged machining may improve final dimensional stability.
Unfilled PPS provides high volume resistivity, good dielectric strength and stable electrical insulation performance across a wide temperature range.
It is suitable for insulating bushings, electrical supports, connector components, sensor parts and high-temperature electrical assemblies.
PPS is inherently flame-resistant and can achieve UL94 V-0 performance under applicable grade and thickness conditions.
The final flame rating must be confirmed according to the selected resin, product thickness and finished component requirements.
PPS rod can be machined by:
• CNC turning
• Milling
• Drilling
• Grinding
• Threading
• Boring
• Cut-to-length processing
Sharp tools, stable clamping and suitable cooling should be used to minimize cutting heat and dimensional movement.
JUTAIPPS® NA rods can be machined into:
• Valve seats
• Valve bushings
• Pump impellers
• Pump sleeves
• Seal carriers
• Wear rings
• Fluid-control components
• Chemical-resistant spacers
• Metering equipment parts
• Instrumentation components
Typical applications include:
• Electrical insulating bushings
• Connector bodies
• Connector cores
• Coil supports
• Terminal components
• High-temperature spacers
• Sensor housings
• Switch components
• Relay components
• Electrical support structures
Natural PPS rod can be used for:
• Equipment bushings
• Insulating sleeves
• Precision positioning components
• Chemical-handling equipment parts
• Test equipment components
• Sensor supports
• Vacuum equipment auxiliary parts
• Semiconductor process fixtures
Material suitability should be confirmed according to cleanliness, outgassing, ionic contamination and chemical exposure requirements.
Typical machined components include:
• Bushings
• Sleeves
• Spacers
• Guides
• Rollers
• Support shafts
• Mechanical supports
• Equipment fixtures
• Precision alignment parts
• High-temperature structural components
Natural PPS should not automatically be selected for heavily loaded, high-speed or dry-running bearings without evaluating pressure, speed, friction, wear and lubrication.
The current standard diameter range covers small precision components and large industrial machined parts.
PPS rods can be cut according to the required finished or machining length, reducing customer handling time and material waste.
Annealing can be provided before or during machining to reduce residual stress and improve dimensional stability.
JUTAI provides turning, milling, drilling, grinding and dimensional inspection according to customer drawings or physical samples.
The following documents can be provided where applicable:
• Technical Data Sheet
• Resin Certificate of Analysis
• Certificate of Conformity
