When you source PEEK, PEI, PSU or PPS sheets and rods for electronics, automotive or industrial equipment, your customer or compliance team will often ask for RoHS and REACH documents. This article covers what these regulations mean for buyers of engineering plastic semi-finished goods, which JUTAI grades have 2026 third-party test reports, and how to get the right report for your order.
RoHS restricts certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. REACH SVHC screening checks for Substances of Very High Concern above the 0.1% (w/w) threshold.

A report covers the tested material grade. Whether a finished part complies also depends on the grade you order and on your machining, bonding, coating and assembly processes.

RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) limits substances such as lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, certain flame retardants (PBB, PBDE) and certain phthalates in electrical and electronic equipment sold in the EU and in markets with similar rules.
PEEK, PEI, PSU and PPS are often used in connectors, insulators, sockets, test fixtures and housings. These parts end up inside regulated equipment, so OEMs usually want a RoHS test report for the raw material before they approve a supplier.
REACH is the EU regulation on chemicals. For articles such as plastic sheets, rods and machined parts, buyers usually ask whether the material contains any substance on the SVHC Candidate List above 0.1% by weight. If it does, communication duties apply along the supply chain.
The Candidate List is updated regularly. A REACH report shows results against the list that was in force on the test date, so always check the report date.
Tip: When your customer asks for "REACH compliance", confirm whether they mean an SVHC screening report (the most common request) or another REACH obligation. This avoids sending the wrong document.

Find the exact grade on your drawing or purchase order, for example "PEEK GF30" and not just "PEEK".
Open the Certificates page and select the RoHS and REACH reports for that grade.

Check the report date and grade name against your customer's requirement.
If you need a document package for a specific order, ask our sales team for it.
Tip: Filled and conductive grades (GF30, CF30, ESD) have a different composition from natural (NA) grades. Request the report that matches the grade you actually buy. Do not use an NA report for a filled grade.
A raw-material test report is strong supporting evidence, but it does not certify your finished part. Compliance at the part level can be affected by:
Grade selection. Each grade is tested on its own.
Machining fluids and cleaning agents used during processing.
Secondary operations such as bonding, painting, plating, marking or inserts.
Other materials in the assembly, such as metals, adhesives and seals.
If your end customer needs a declaration for the finished part, build it from the material report plus your own process controls and any extra testing that applies.

Does a material RoHS report mean my machined part is RoHS compliant?
Not by itself. The report covers the tested material grade. Part-level compliance also depends on your processing, secondary operations and other materials in the assembly.
