| JUTAIPPS® GF40 is a 40% glass-fiber-reinforced PPS sheet developed for high-stress structural components requiring high stiffness, low thermal expansion, creep resistance and dimensional stability at elevated temperatures. The material is suitable for precision support plates, electrical structures, equipment housings, thermal-management components, semiconductor fixtures and industrial structural parts. Cut-to-size supply, controlled annealing and precision CNC machining are available according to customer drawings and application requirements. | |||||||||
PPS GF40 Sheet is a 40% short-cut glass fiber reinforced PPS grade that offers higher stiffness and creep resistance compared to other PPS grades. Due to its improved dimensional stability, this grade performs excellently in structural applications involving high static loads, even over long periods and at high temperatures. Although the glass fiber reinforcement enhances the material's dimensional stability, this additive can cause wear on mating surfaces in sliding parts.
JUTAIPPS® GF40 is a black, 40% glass-fiber-reinforced polyphenylene sulfide sheet designed for structural applications involving elevated temperatures, static mechanical loads and repeated thermal cycling.
Compared with unfilled PPS, PPS GF40 provides higher tensile modulus, higher flexural modulus, lower thermal expansion and improved resistance to creep and deformation.
These properties make it suitable for structural plates, equipment supports, high-temperature housings, electrical fixtures and precision components that must maintain geometry under mechanical and thermal stress.
Cut-to-size supply and precision CNC machining can be provided according to customer drawings.
JUTAIPPS® GF40 provides a tensile modulus of at least 5.0 GPa and a flexural modulus of at least 7.0 GPa.
The higher modulus helps structural plates and supports resist bending and deformation under load.
The coefficient of linear thermal expansion is ≤45 × 10⁻⁶/K under the referenced test conditions.
This helps machined components maintain dimensional alignment during temperature changes and repeated thermal cycles.
JUTAIPPS® GF40 provides a heat-deflection temperature of at least 230°C at 1.80 MPa.
This makes it suitable for structural components exposed to a combination of heat and mechanical stress.
Heat-deflection temperature should not be treated as the guaranteed continuous operating temperature of every finished component.
Glass-fiber reinforcement improves resistance to long-term deformation under static load.
This is valuable for mounting plates, support structures, equipment frames and other components that must maintain dimensions over long service periods.
The PPS matrix offers excellent resistance to many acids, alkalis, oils, fuels, coolants, hydrocarbons and industrial chemicals.
Chemical compatibility must be evaluated according to the actual medium, concentration, temperature, pressure and exposure time.
Water absorption is ≤0.05% under the referenced test conditions.
Low moisture absorption helps PPS GF40 components maintain dimensional stability and electrical properties in humid or wet environments.
JUTAIPPS® GF40 provides high volume resistivity and good dielectric strength.
It can be used for structural electrical components where stiffness, dimensional stability and insulation are required.
The material can achieve UL94 V-0 performance at the specified test thickness.
The applicable rating of a finished part depends on the resin grade, thickness and final component design.

Glass-fiber-reinforced PPS is more abrasive than natural PPS.
For machining PPS GF40 sheet:
• Use carbide or diamond-coated cutting tools
• Provide stable support across the sheet
• Avoid excessive clamping pressure
• Control cutting heat
• Use effective dust extraction
• Inspect cutting tools regularly
• Use staged machining for tight tolerances
• Consider annealing for extensive material removal
Machining can expose glass fibers and produce a less uniform surface than natural PPS.
PPS GF40 should not automatically be used as a sliding surface against soft metals or plastics because the exposed glass fibers may increase mating-surface wear.
• Higher stiffness
• Higher flexural modulus
• Lower thermal expansion
• Better resistance to creep
• Higher structural stability
• Better dimensional retention under load
• Greater stability during thermal cycling
• Better toughness
• Easier machining
• Smoother machined surfaces
• Lower cutting-tool wear
• More complex precision features
• Unfilled material
• Better suitability for selected electrical insulation components
